In a desperate attempt to get children back into School in September, calls for weekly Covid-19 testing on children and teachers have been suggested.[1]
The UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has declared getting children back to school in September, a ‘National Priority’.
But advisors to the Government have warned that much is needed to be done for this to happen safely.
Sir David King urged the Prime Minister to ‘get it right’ in August ahead of schools reopening—or face a second wave of coronavirus infections that would paralyse the economy and risk thousands more deaths.[2]
Sir David King believes a second lockdown is inevitable if drastic measures are not taken to improve the current track and trace system.
I think most people have now come to understand that the ‘second wave’ is coming, regardless of whether or not it actually exists. So I have to ask, who is actually going to send their children back to school?
With weekly testing of children and limited human contact, why on earth would any parent want to put their child back into school at this point?
And if you are still under the illusion that this pandemic is justified, then surely you wouldn’t want to put your child in harm’s way either.
