Just as I and so many others predicted, restrictions are ramping up in the UK as the year’s end draws closer.
The fact that deaths and hospitalizations have plummeted in the past few weeks doesn’t matter, we’ve got an upsurge in cases (because of the upsurge in testing).
Here are the new restrictions and measures being implemented in the UK[1]:
- Pubs, bars and restaurants to close at 22:00 BST
- They will also be restricted to table service only
- People should work from home wherever possible
- Face masks compulsory for bar staff and non-seated customers, shop workers and waiters
- Limit on guests at weddings reduced from 30 to 15
- Plans to allow fans to return to sporting events paused
- “Rule of six” now applies to indoor team sports
- Fines for not wearing masks or following rules increased to £200 for first offence
The UK Prime Minister made a public announcement and revealed his tough new rules to tackle the rising new number of cases.
Boris clearly believes the general public are too stupid to understand the data being published by the ONS, which clearly shows there is no cause for concern over the virus. Deaths and hospitalizations are still low, it is just cases which are on the increase.

Do these charts induce panic or concern?
No, they don’t. The NHS is not overwhelmed and has not been since the beginning of the pandemic. More people are dying from suicide right now than COVID-19, and yet here we are sliding back into Lockdown.
If you hadn’t already noticed, this is not about coronavirus, this is not about protecting lives and saving the NHS. No, this is simply about the transitioning of society into a new age. This is about the normalization of state control and freedom restriction.
The ‘new normal’ was not a symptom of the pandemic, the pandemic is a convenient or possibly fabricated event to justify the ‘new normal’.
Johnson is suggesting these new rules will be in place for 6 months. 6 Months is a long time, it’s long enough to form a new routine, a new mindset.
I believe that in this time, most of the public will become desensitized to the restrictions placed upon their freedoms and privacy.
I believe there is no intention of returning the UK and indeed the greater World back to what it once was. Unless there is a significant pushback from the public, the golden age has officially ended.
I’ll leave you with the UK Column who as usual have covered these latest rules in detail:
