Disney has confirmed that its new series, “The Owl House” will feature a bisexual lead character named Luz Noceda.
Luz Noceda is a 14-year-old Dominican-American girl. This new series from the masters of child indoctrination follows Luz’s adventure of becoming a witch, even though she has no magical powers.
Series creator Dana Terrace said:
“I was very open about my intention to put queer kids in the main cast. I’m a horrible liar so sneaking it in would’ve been hard. I was told by certain Disney leadership that I could not represent any form of bi or gay relationship on the channel.”
Terrace, who identifies as bisexual, said she wanted to write about a bisexual character, so she really pushed Disney to allow the role, adding:
“Luckily my stubbornness paid off, and now I am very supported by current Disney leadership.”
This is a topic which rarely ends in a rational discussion on either side, all I want to know is why on earth does sexuality even need to be ‘a thing’ in children’s programmes?
